Today - Smashing Pumpkins (Guitar Cover)

- I felt like doing another Pumpkins cover! This song is the song that first introduced me to SP when I was a mere 10yrs old. SP's been one of my favorite (if not my favorite) band/s since.
This one is off of their 1993 album Siamese Dream - which is indeed one of the best albums of all time.
Note: There's a couple of guitar layers recorded in this cover. Most everything you hear I'm playing on-screen... But there's a complete second rhythm guitar track that I recorded that I didn't record me playing and a few other small bits.
Also, sorry for the messy room - I'm dealing with importing dozens of CD's into my iTunes library at the moment...

You're like the only player I noticed that bends the strings just about as long as James does on the recording, rather than when they play live. Which puts my ocd to ease, thank you.
Hahaha! I have OCD about that bend, too! Whenever SP play this song live; James or Jeff never fully let the bend/note ring out for the correct amount of time. (Per the studio track).

Thanks, Rhys! Haha, me too! He’s purportedly been working on writing it for 15+ years. With all the stuff he’s working on now; the 2 new SP albums, the Machina reissue, upcoming shows, his Madame ZuZu’s tea shop events - I don’t know how he has any time to sit and write. Though I hope one day he does finish and publish his book, as it will be the autobiography of a musician that I’m most looking forward to reading. (And I HATE reading).

do you use a pedal for distortion or do you change the settings on your amp
How do you overcome copyright infirngement when doing this? I always wanted to start my channel but gets hold off by copyright
I just post the cover & see what happens. 99% of the time I can post any song and have it be viewable and not taken down. Of course the video gets flagged by YT as “copyrighted content found”… But in most all cases YT just restricts your ability to monetize the video. Occasionally the copyright holder may block viewing access to certain countries and territories. (It sucks when this happens - but luckily for me it’s usually small obscure 3rd world countries).
